The Department of Pediatrics has a fully accredited three-year residency program and is also affiliated with Weill Cornell Medical College. It is open to both U.S. and international medical graduates. Graduates of our program meet the standards of National Boards passing rates.

Our residents are exposed to a wide range of patients, not only in terms of the variety of diseases but also in differing cultural backgrounds. This enables them to meet the demands of the changing demographics of healthcare anywhere in the United States.

They get exposure in Primary Care Continuity Clinics, the Pediatric Emergency Department, the Pediatric Floors, PICU, NICU, Newborn nursery, and also Community Pediatrics. We also have affiliations with different hospital providing rich experiences including exposure to Hematology and Oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer center, PICU at Children's Hospital at Montefiore and Developmental Pediatrics at Metropolitan Hospital.

We offer our trainees a wide variety of subspecialties rotations. The residents spend over fifty percent of their training in ambulatory pediatrics as required by the ACGME. Our resident's clinical training is further reinforced by a rich academic program. An extensive core curriculum lecture series which includes psychosocial issues, communication skills, child advocacy and developmental dynamics is held twice daily. Weekly Grand Rounds, Journal Clubs, Resident Seminars and close faculty mentoring ensure the academic success of our residents.

Opportunities for involvement in clinical research are multiple and faculty members are available as preceptors and mentors to residents who wish to pursue any research project. The scope of the clinical resources in our department is extensive and can accomodate research in most areas of pediatrics.
